Insurance Auto Auctions to Participate at 70th Annual Sturgis Bike Week
IAA Continues to Support Motorcycle Enthusiast Rallies Throughout the U.S.
Westchester, Ill. — Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc., the leading hybrid model salvage auto auction company and a wholly owned subsidiary of KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), today announced its participation at the 70th annual Sturgis Bike Rally in South Dakota from August 9-15, 2010. The Insurance Auto Auctions team will be located at Black Hills Harley Davidson in Rapid City, S.D.
“Sturgis Bike Week is widely known as the largest motorcycle event in the world and Insurance Auto Auctions is excited to be a part of it again this year,” stated Tom O’Brien, CEO. “We continue to participate in large bike rallies like this one throughout the country where our customers can tell us what they’re looking for at our salvage auctions. Earlier this year we participated at both Daytona and Laconia rallies.” O’Brien stated.
In May of this year, IAA kicked off its second season of Big Bad Bike Sales at 15 of its U.S. locations and is pleased with the positive response. Insurance Auto Auctions 2010 IAA Big Bad Bike Sales are national campaign events geared toward motorcycle buyers and enthusiasts looking to bid on and buy from a large volume and variety of bikes from leading manufacturers.
Just like riders enjoy the freedom of the open road, IAA offers buyers the freedom to choose how to participate in its auctions by bidding live in-person, or live on-line with its signature hybrid auction model. Six of the IAA locations are located in states that permit public bidding. In the event a particular state does not permit public bidding, buyers may be able to buy through RideSafely.com, a broker that can purchase on behalf of public buyers. Additional restrictions may apply, so public buyers should confirm purchasing eligibility and vehicle registration requirements prior to the sale.
The 15 participating IAA locations to host the Big Bad Bike Sales include: Atlanta East, Baton Rouge, Dallas, Fremont (Calif.), Hartford (Conn.), Houston North, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Nashville, Orlando-North, Phoenix, and Taunton (Mass.). IAA auction preview auction dates and times vary from facility to facility; go to www.iaai.com for more information.
