Life at OPENLANE: Q&A with Rolla Kaddoura, Product Owner
Rolla Kaddoura came to OPENLANE with the goal of becoming a product owner in 5 years and ended up becoming one in 5 months. Read more about her journey in our chat below.
What has your journey at OPENLANE looked like?
I started as a senior business analyst and did that for about 5 months. Then I got promoted to product owner and have been doing that for two and a half years. Originally, my goal was to become a product owner in five years, but it ended up happening in five months. The growth was quick, which was awesome.
What is something you are most proud of during your time with OPENLANE?
Being heavily involved in creating our inventory management platform for our international business. We just recently onboarded a large new client – so that was very rewarding.
What do you like the most about working here?
The people—I love working with my team and department. The leaders are humble and don’t mind getting their hands dirty and figuring things out with you. It’s an open-door policy. Also, the flexibility and trust that comes with working remotely. They trust you to get your work done on your own time.
What’s a piece of advice for newcomers to the company?
Listen. OPENLANE has a lot of products, and everything is intertwined so listen as much as you can. It’s a lot of technology – so it can be overwhelming. Just take it one product at a time and learn from people who have been there for quite a while.
What’s your favorite part of technology?
How much it changes. I love keeping up with what technology innovators and even competitors do and trying out new things, techniques and strategies. UX design too. It’s such an important aspect of the customer experience.
