High Tech Locksmiths Exceeds 2 Million Keys Made Milestone

Carmel, Ind.—KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), a provider of used vehicle auction services, today announced that subsidiary company High Tech Locksmiths (HTL) has hit an impressive milestone, having cut more than 2 million keys for customers. HTL is the largest provider of car keys, including high-security, transponder, proximity and smart keys in North America.

“We’re thrilled but not surprised to hit this threshold. HTL has experienced consistent and steady growth because we are unmatched in the industry,” said David Vignes, executive vice president of enterprise optimization for KAR. “We offer on-site and mobile solutions for a need that could otherwise slow the selling cycle.”

High Tech Locksmiths specializes in lost key generation, duplication and remote programming for the auto remarketing industry. Field technicians are completely mobile and supported by an in-house tech support team, allowing same-day job completion at a price below dealership cost.

“This milestone is a testament the hard work and dedication of our entire HTL team,” said Jay Wiener, CEO of HTL. “Our technicians are highly trained and always strive to provide the highest level of service to our customers.”

The company started in 1992 with just two service trucks. Today an impressive fleet of more than 135 trucks serves the top 58 metro areas of the United States, including 40 of the 50 states. HTL services large dealerships, independent dealers, auto auctions, rental companies and a variety of customers nationwide.
