KAR Auction Services Announces IT Management Changes
CARMEL, Ind.—KAR Auction Services (NYSE: KAR) today announced management
changes within the IT Shared Services (ITSS) department, including the
promotion of Chris Seitz to the newly created position of vice
president. ITSS develops and supports numerous information technology
initiatives across various business units within the KAR group of
companies.
“I’m very excited about these changes,” said KAR Chief Information Officer of IT Shared Services Gary Watkins. “Our new service delivery model streamlines responsibility for all aspects of IT Shared Services while creating additional leadership positions, supporting career growth and allowing IT Shared Services to scale in size.”
Chris Seitz joined KAR in 2007 as manager of application and integrated services and, promoted to director in 2010, he led the effort to establish KAR’s cloud strategy for infrastructure. He has been responsible for database management services since 2012. As vice president of ITSS, Seitz will lead the development of KAR’s technology service delivery offerings.
Prior to KAR, Seitz served as IT director at ITT Technical Institute, leading the delivery of application services and related portal-based technologies. He started his career with EDS (now part of Hewlett-Packard) as a systems engineer supporting General Motors and its subsidiaries. Seitz has a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University.
George Shaughnessy, director of ITSS, will now assume responsibility for infrastructure services and will report to Seitz.
Ryan Kreag will join the organization as director of platform services for ITSS, tasked with application and data hosting and software configuration management, and will report to Seitz as well. Most recently, Kreag was the chief information officer at Key Benefit Administrators. He has many years of experience strategically aligning technology platforms and IT organizations to support businesses undergoing both rapid organic growth and growth through acquisition. Kreag holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.
KAR has also promoted Mary Kinietz to the position of director of ITSS. Kinietz joined the KAR team in 2004. As director of ITSS, she will continue to oversee the ITSS Project Management Office. Kinietz has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
