KAR AUCTION SERVICES CIO SELECTED AS CO-CHAIRMAN FOR 2014 INDIANAPOLIS EVANTA CIO EXECUTIVE SUMMIT
KAR CIO and Director of Information Risk to deliver presentation on IT culture

Carmel, Ind.-based KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), a provider of used vehicle auction services, announced today that CIO, IT Shared Services Gary Watkins has been selected as one of three co-chairman of the 2014 Indianapolis Evanta CIO Executive Summit on Tuesday, June 17 at the Westin Indianapolis. KAR CEO Jim Hallett made the announcement.

As one of four co-chairs and a member of the conference’s governing body, Watkins is assisting with the development and execution of an innovative, inspiring event designed to provide Indianapolis’ IT leaders with fresh insight into industry challenges and the chance for unparalleled networking and collaboration. This year’s event will be the first CIO Executive Summit to take place in Indianapolis.

In addition to driving the event, Watkins will also team up with KAR’s Director of Information Risk, Stacy Mill, who is part of the event’s governing body, to deliver a presentation titled “Unified Front—Creating a Collaborative Culture.” The session will provide insight into how the KAR IT team views technology opportunities and challenges through a cultural lens, and share how investing in people and fostering open communication has allowed them to develop and strengthen a successful culture of technology and security at KAR.
