KAR AUCTION SERVICES EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT CHOSEN AS ONE OF INDIANAPOLIS BUSINESS JOURNAL’S WOMEN OF INFLUENCE

Carmel, Ind.-based KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), a provider of used vehicle auction services, announced today that Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary Becca Polak was chosen as one of the 2014 Indianapolis Business Journal Women of Influence. KAR Auction Services CEO Jim Hallett made the announcement.

Polak was one of 20 women chosen to receive this recognition, which honors Indianapolis-area women in both the public and private sectors who have demonstrated professional excellence and leadership in their careers and community service. Polak and the other honorees were recognized at the Indianapolis Business Journal Women of Influence Recognition Breakfast on Oct. 31 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.

“During the nearly 10 years Becca has been with KAR Auction Services, she has built an incredible reputation as a trusted, charismatic leader both within KAR, and in the greater Indianapolis community,” said Hallett. “On behalf of the entire KAR group of companies, I would like to congratulate Becca on this well-deserved accomplishment.”

As executive vice president, general counsel and secretary for KAR Auction Services, Polak oversees strategic, legal and business planning, and the handling of litigation, mergers, acquisitions and general corporate matters. She joined the company in 2005 as associate general counsel, and was promoted to her current position in 2007. Prior to joining KAR, Polak honed her unique expertise in mergers and acquisitions as a senior associate with Indianapolis-based Krieg DeVault and Dallas-based Haynes and Boone.

In addition to her professional role, Polak has served on the Indiana Repertory Theatre’s board of directors since 2010 and also served on the Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Broadcasting, Inc.’s board of directors from 2008 to 2013 and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer of Central Indiana’s board of directors from 2003 to 2008. Polak has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Indiana Super Lawyers and included on Indianapolis Business Journal’s “Who’s Who” list in the financial industry.
