CLASSIC CAR RAFFLE
KAR business unit ADESA donates 1971 Pontiac GTO

Carmel, Ind.-based KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), a provider of used vehicle auction services, announced today that its business unit ADESA raised $59,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) by raffling off a 1971 Pontiac GTO at the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes on Saturday, Oct. 4 in Military Park. KAR Auction Services CEO Jim Hallett made the announcement.

ADESA’s 65 North American auction locations contributed to the purchase of the Pontiac GTO, which was chosen by ADESA Indianapolis General Manager and JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Corporate Chair Dave Emerson as a way to generate excitement and donations. A total of 590 raffle tickets were sold for $100 apiece, resulting in the $59,000 donation at the event. Along with the car raffle donation, ADESA was also one of 79 corporate teams that participated in the walk.

The Walk to Cure Diabetes is one of several initiatives KAR participates in to support the JDRF. Representatives from the company also host a charitable car show each summer, with all proceeds going to the organization. This past summer, the car show raised more than $50,000 for the foundation.
