Life at OPENLANE: Q&A with Cesar Parra Sotelo, Inside Sales Representative

Cesar Parra Sotelo, Inside Sales Representative, talks to us about his career journey, what he likes most about working at OPENLANE, and shares some great career advice.

What has your journey at OPENLANE looked like? 

Eight years ago, I started as a customer service representative and two years after I was hired, I moved into a role with one of our sister companies as an Inside Sales Representative with AFC’s Business Development Center. 

What is something you are most proud of during your time with OPENLANE?

Building relationships with colleagues across the company. Working for different companies within OPENLANE has provided me the opportunity to form relationships with others and created growth opportunities for my career.

What do you like the most about working at OPENLANE?

The culture and the people are the best!

What’s a piece of advice for newcomers to the company?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions — especially when you’re new! Be intentional about getting to know others, both inside and outside your department.

Which one of your skills assisted you the most with your success?

I’m naturally customer-service oriented and those skills helped me advance into my current position in sales.
