Life at OPENLANE: Q&A with Kimberly Stoner, Senior Key Account Executive

Kimberly Stoner, Senior Key Account Executive at OPENLANE, loves where her career path at OPENLANE has led her. Learn more about the skills she’s acquired and her achievements during her time at OPENLANE.

What has your journey at OPENLANE looked like?

I started with the company in 2018 as an Inside Sales Representative at TradeRev. I was part of the combination of TradeRev and BacklotCars in 2021 — what’s now OPENLANE’s US marketplace — where I worked as a Senior Activation Manager. Today, I work as a Senior Key Account Executive with an awesome team. We’re focused on growing the business with Key Account Buyers and Independent Sellers.

What is something you are most proud of during your time with OPENLANE?

I’m proud that I’ve challenged myself to get more uncomfortable in my work and take on more challenging tasks, and that I’ve been able to deliver positive results for the company. I’m proud of where my career path has led me and I feel aligned with the growth and development that I had been seeking out for quite some time.

What do you like the most about working at OPENLANE?

I genuinely enjoy the people I get to work with. I’ve developed great friendships and relationships over 6+ years of working alongside my teams. It makes it feel a little less like work! I also really appreciate the flexibility of hybrid work!

What would you say is your favorite part about our culture?

My favorite part about the culture at OPENLANE is the attitude/mindset that winning is a “team sport”. I feel like my team particularly embodies this and we do a very good job of supporting one another.

Which of our company values resonates most with you?

“Driven Waybuilders” resonates with me the most. This comes from a mindset of building and creating with our customers based on their unique needs. This gives us room to challenge the status quo of customer thinking and use adaptable processes to build great relationships with customers.

What is a song you can’t stop listening to right now?
