18 years at OPENLANE: Balancing work, family, and success. From building a home to building relationships, find out how Mandy Mills’s OPENLANE journey shaped her career and life.

What has your journey at OPENLANE looked like? 

I’ve been part of the company for 18 years and I love working here! When I started, my sons were ages one and four, and we were building the house we’re still living in today. I’d previously been working part-time at a bank and moving into a full-time role was a big change. But, I can honestly say that working for this company helped me to raise my boys and not miss any important events in their childhood. The work life balance I’ve experienced meant that I was able to work a job I love, including being in a manager role, while being the mom I wanted to be; I never missed a field trip or a class party. We have also gone on many family vacations over the years! 

What is something you are most proud of during your time with OPENLANE? 

I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built. The people I work with are more than colleagues; they are my friends. 

What do you like the most about working at OPENLANE? 

The people I work with! I also love that our customers are car dealers and I get the opportunity to work with business owners. We are making a difference in the lives of our customers. 

What’s a piece of advice for newcomers to the company?

Don’t be afraid to try new things and ask questions. Many of my friendships started because I reached out and asked a question. 

Which one of your skills assisted you the most with your success at OPENLANE?

Being resourceful, and the ability to successfully adapt my energy to different situations to ensure I’m able to effectively help our customers while also protecting our business.
