The Ball’s in Your Court: Get Back in the Game

If the past several months have taught me anything, it’s that we can never be too prepared. Training, fortitude and endurance will keep us moving forward.

Growing up in Indianapolis, my go-to game was always tennis, and I admired many legends for their domination and determination on the court. One of those tennis greats was Arthur Ashe, winner of three Grand Slam singles titles and the first African American man to win the singles title at Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the Australian Open.

As a young boy, I had the opportunity to see Ashe play. He didn’t disappoint. He was just what I expected — smooth, agile and fierce. But what inspired me most were his selfless actions off the court.

Ashe was constantly seen with a smile on his face and continually had positive words to share. To this day, many of his messages continue to motivate me.

As the pandemic engulfed us this year, it would have been easy to give up and even easier to feel sorry for our predicament. But as a leader of floorplan provider AFC, I knew tens of thousands of dealers were counting on us to sustain their success.
